Matt had a dental conference in New Jersey last week.  Considering the fact that he had to take 4 of his 10 vacation days for the year to attend, I decided we should all come!  Before the conference, we took a short trip to the Big Apple.  Joel has been begging to see the Statue of Liberty for years.  Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain and the traffic was like this:
We are collecting pictures of our family in different states.  We had to risk life and limb to get this one:

We finally made it to NYC and headed straight for the Staten Island Ferry.  The kids came armed with all sorts of really interesting information on Lady Liberty.  Visibility was pretty low that day.  You could barely see anything for all the fog.
And finally, the view of the Statue!  The kids say it was "Awesome".  I'm glad they weren't discouraged by the compromised view.
Plus, they got to ride on a ferry boat--their first time.
After our trip to the city, we stopped off in Jersey at Carlo's Bakery, home of Cake Boss.
Matt and Joel bought us a cake and some canollis.  So delicious!
The rest of the week was spent swimming in the hotel, visiting the park and doing school work in the hotel.
Then we headed home to PA on Friday night.  Such a fun trip!
