Matt turned 43 on Friday. We celebrated with Grandma Malone at Minard's Italian restaurant on Monday night, and then I took him on a date on Friday night. He got new snow shoes for his birthday--for both of us! He stayed busy all week with work and home stuff.
I kept myself out of trouble going to a million meetings. I had a Primary Board meeting, a PTO Board meeting with the Principal, another PTO meeting with the parents, a staff meeting at work, and another big meeting with Georgene about a bunch of office things we are changing in 2020. I even had an impromptu meeting of the swim board at Merrody's swim meet on Saturday. One of Matt's hygienist's house burned down this week, so Georgene and I went out to her house for a long time on Friday with some things for them. Pretty sad.
This girl got into BYU-I this week!!! She is happy! We are still waiting to hear from BYU Provo, and also to hear about her track assignment for BYU-I. She is in the thick of swim season, so that takes up all of her free time. She had a meet yesterday and did well.
Joel has lost 40 pounds, mostly by completely giving up carbs. He goes to the gym everyday, works twice a week, and spends every available minute with friends. His classes must be too easy, because we don't hear much about school work.
Jack had his first community league basketball game yesterday. He is one of the tallest kids on the team, so he gets lots of playing time! He loves it. He was also ordained as a teacher today. Jack is a good boy. He is trying to take over the job of "cleaning lady" that Joel used to do around here. We'll see if he can live up to his brother's thoroughness and diligence!
Norah was the student of the month this week. She is everyone's favorite at that school. She got straight a's on her report card this week. She's never had a b. Actually, neither have Jack or Hazel! Good kids and smart ones, too!
Hazel had a good week. Her teacher sent home a note saying she is "the perfect 2nd grade student". We all pretty much love her spunky personality. She's a kick!
We got some snow this week, much to Henry's delight! On Tuesday, it absolutely dumped snow all day long, but only after the kids were already at school. Wednesday morning, there was a 2-hour-delay, but the roads were fine. Go figure! Henry got a little snowman made, though, so he was happy. One night he said to me, "Hey, Mom, I want to tell you a secret, but don't tell Dad. I love you just a little bit more than Dad." Ha! I'll take it!
