Two Weddings and a Funeral

After Christmas, I flew out west to attend weddings for both Derek and Dillon.  I took this guy:
Dillon's wedding was first.  It was FRIGID.  Here's how Henry felt about it:
I don't blame the guy!  We had a lot of fun, though.

I call this next set of photos "Big Dumb Idiots"

The luncheon was at the BYU Sky Room.  Good food!

While we were at the luncheon, Mom's sisters got word that Grandma Emery's health was failing.  The three sisters left almost immediately to be by her bedside.  Mom stayed for the reception that evening, and then rushed to Boise to be with Grandma the next morning.

I had this bright idea to take a series of "wedding selfies" at the reception.  Of course, it didn't occur to me until it was over that I just had a bunch of pictures of myself!  Ugh!  Now I'm not so sorry, though.  At least I have a bunch of pictures of me with my favorite people!

Mom with her five grandchildren who were born while she has been on her mission!  Another one was born last week!
My favorite thing was to take a selfie of myself with my kids' favorite cousins and send them an "eat your heart out" text!  They were so jealous!

The reception was when the family started getting sick.  At first it was just a couple of the kids who were throwing up.  Sadly, even the bride got it and had to leave the reception a little early!

The next morning, I was part of the caravan that headed back to Boise.  We dropped Mom right off with Grandma.  She rarely left her side over the next three days.  She didn't even come home to sleep.

Meanwhile, everyone in the family was passing around a terrible stomach flu.  Also, Derek and Dillon both had major car problems (wrecks, flat tires, impounds, break downs, towing, and one non-repairable dead car!)  The family rallied for a fun Open House and Joel's home.  I don't have many pics from the night.  These are for you, Derek!

The next morning, on the way to Derek's wedding, we got the news that Grandma Emery had passed.

She will be dearly missed!  She is the only grandparent I've had for the last 10 years.  She is the reason my mom's family is in the gospel.  She came for two weeks every time my mom had a baby.  Matt and I lived with her for a few months after dental school when Merrody, Joel and Jack were little and I was pregnant with Norah.  I'm sad she's gone, but so glad she is back with Grandpa.
Derek's wedding was beautiful.  Sadly, we had all had a long week and I didn't get any pictures.  Congrats anyway, guys!  You both make wonderful couples!
