Road Trip 2015

Day 1:  The kids and I drove 14 hours to Justin's house in Lawrence, Kansas.  We passed through Charleston, WV, Louisville, Kentucky, St. Louis, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, and many others.
Day 2:  We drove from Kansas to Orem, Utah via Colorado.  Denver and Vale were stunning!

Day 3:  The kids and I spent the day in Provo with my sister, Ashley, and brothers, Derek and Dillon (and their cute wives!).  We went to the BYU Bookstore, to visit Derek at work on campus, to the mall for a birthday lunch with Ashley, and to the Monte L. Bean Museum.  We had dinner at Café Rio and swam in the hotel pool.  So fun!

Day 4:  We picked up Matt at the airport in Salt Lake City.  Hooray!  Then we headed south to Moab, Utah and Arches National Park.

Day 5:  After another hike, we headed back up to Provo, where we toured more of BYU campus and then to Highland, Utah, to stay with my cousin, Audrey and her sweet family.
Day 6:  We headed to Salt Lake City and Temple Square to show the kids where our family began.  Then we headed north to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho to meet up with the rest of my family.

Day 7:  We had the homecoming sacrament meeting and then a nice dinner in honor of these three, who just got home from their missions:
Then we headed up to the mountains with the family for a great reunion at the Moses Horse Ranch.  It was so fun!

Days 8 and 9:  Horseback Riding, canoeing, paddle boats, volleyball, hiking, climbing, classes, and a very fun barn dance!  We had a great time being together!

Day 10 and 11:  We spent some quality time at Joel and Melanie's house.  We went swimming, the boys slept on the trampoline, we got to watch a cow be butchered, and went on a fun date to the Boise Botanical Gardens.  Matt and Merrody got to be part of a huge service party involving 350 youth from Boise in Horseshoe bend.  Matt got to go white water rafting and golfing with Joel and Justin.  And we took the kids to Roaring Springs, 8th best water park in the United States.

Day 12:  After a nice lunch at Mom and Dad's (thanks, Burrs!) we headed back east.  We drove through Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming that day.

Day 13:  Mount Rushmore was the highlight of this day.  We also stopped by the Badlands.

Day 14:  After driving through the night, we pulled into our home sweet home at 7pm.  What a fun trip!  In 14 days, we were in 15 states:  West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.  We had such a fun time and we are SO glad to be home!
