Well, at the age of 5 Merrody has already had her first plastic surgery. Everything went pretty well and they were very accommodating at the hospital. Merrody brought a stuffed horse with her. By the time everything was over, that horse had on a gown, booties, a hospital bracelet, an eye patch, gauze and had been administered anesthesia through a tiny breathing mask. We wheeled Merr out of the hospital in a little red wagon. She has been pretty tough and hasn't complained too much and is even pretty good about keeping the ice and ointment on. She
won't be able to return to school until Monday, but it doesn't matter because there's an enormous snow storm today and school is cancelled! Please send the homemade bread and stew.Love,
Sarah

Yhea, pretty graphic I'd say! She does seem to be happy though. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Hope Merrody's eye heals well.
See you soon at the Christmas pre-school party.
Is it too late to have Merrody be a zombie as a retroactive Halloween costume?
Poor, poor little Merrody. Love, Dad (Grandpa Flake)
OUCH! How can it be that even with the stitches, swelling, and bruising she still looks as cute as a button. What a champ! Malia had some surgery in May and it was NO FUN! Good luck with recovery. ;)
